"Souvenirs de mes voyages" is an intimate journey through places that shaped the painter's sensibility – spaces inhabited, felt, and transformed into the language of an image. Not a linear diary, but a map of experiences and emotional traces.

The presented works do not follow a chronological order of travels. They create an autonomous narrative in which subsequent places become a pretext for showing the evolution of the gaze – on the female form, emotion, and presence. Each painting bears the name of a city, but these names serve as a key, not a description: they direct attention not to geographical literalism, but to the states, tensions, and moods that a given place left in the artist.

A graduate of the Parisian École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Sarapata has consistently developed her recognizable painting language for over three decades. Her figures – often eyeless – speak through gesture, line, and chiaroscuro. This is a conscious choice that opens up space for interpretation and invites the viewer to encounter their own emotions. The artist uses oil, charcoal, pastels, and ink, creating works of unique physicality, where sensuality intertwines with the harmony of form.

"Souvenirs de mes voyages" is, therefore, a reflection on how places shape the artist and how the artist can transform these experiences into a universal painting language. It is a story about emotions, change, and continuous searching. About a journey that is still ongoing.
